The Plan
Before we head into the field, let’s discuss the ‘vision’ for this photo shoot and how we plan to make it a reality.
The Gear
I walk you through the photography gear and equipment I generally take with me on a shoot.
In the Field
We head into the wild New Zealand landscape, in the lush temperate rainforest. I show you how to react accordingly to the light and explore compositional ideas as we capture an amazing waterfall scene.
Image Selection
We go step-by-step through the raw files and I’ll share with you which one I think is the best of them all.
Global Adjustments
It’s time to begin post processing, as we commence with some global light adjustments. Next, we bring the RAW file to life with further global adjustments, this time specifically for color.
Local Adjustments
Next, we start having some fun, as we target local areas of the frame with light and contrast adjustments. This gives our scene a more three-dimensional look.
Cloning & Cropping
In this lesson, we remove some minor distractions and adjust the composition slightly.
Refinements
Lastly, we finish up the edit with some final tweaks and adjustments to really help things come to life.
Bonus Edit
In this bonus lesson, we run through a complete processing workflow of a separate raw file, reinstating everything learned in the previous processing lessons.
